Who we are
This website is run for Soulshaker, the house music duo of Matt Meyers and Warren Meyers. We are the controller of personal data collected through it, under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Questions about your data: info@soulshakermusic.com.
What we collect
- Enquiries. When you use the contact form, we receive what you enter: your name, email address, and any phone number, organisation, event details and message you choose to add.
- Emails. If you email us directly, we receive your address and whatever you send.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share your data for marketing.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry and, if it goes ahead, to arrange the booking, project or interview. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Who sees it
Matt, Warren and the team who handle their bookings and management. Form messages are delivered by an email service provider, and the site is hosted by a web hosting provider. Both act on our instructions and may process data outside the UK, protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to two years so we can follow up, then delete them. If an enquiry becomes a booking or contract, we keep the related records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting (usually six years).
Cookies and storage
- This site doesn't set cookies of its own, so there's no cookie banner.
- The music player remembers your volume setting in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
- Videos are hosted on YouTube. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play, and we use its privacy-enhanced mode. Once a video plays, YouTube may store information on your device under Google's own policies.
- Links to Instagram, SoundCloud, YouTube and other platforms take you to their sites, where their privacy policies apply.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy. Contact us using the details above and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab) or 0303 123 1113.
