Soulshaker are now firmly established as being one of the hottest and most prolific writing, production and remix teams in the World of commercial Pop/dance Music. To give you some indication of just how ‘in demand’ the guys have been this year, in one week alone during April, the Soulshaker name was involved in no less than 14% of the tracks that made up the entire top 60 UK Music Week Dance Chart, and since then, Warren Meyers, Kelly Mueller, and Matt Meyers, who make up Soulshaker, have gone from strength to strength, and in the last 2 months alone, they have had 6 top 10 UK club chart tracks, including three No1’s, and they have been commissioned by various major labels to remix twelve tracks commercial releases. Some of the last 2 months remixes have been for Chaka Khan & Mary J Blige (SonyBMG US/Megafan), Keri Hilson (Timbaland/Universal), Robin S (Champion), Lindsay Lohan (Universal US), Alexander O’Neal (EMI), Wiz Khalifa (Warners), Judge Jules (Maelstrom), Crystal Waters (Trackworks US) and Shanie (AATW), and has seen the guys remixing tracks originally produced by some of their musical idols, to include Stargate, Timbaland, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Soulshaker was also the only UK dance production team to be commissioned to remix the recent double Grammy award winning track ‘Disrespectful’ by Chaka Khan & Mary J Blige, produced by the aforementioned ‘jam & Lewis’.
The Soulshaker name first broke onto the scene in 2006 with their debut release entitled ‘Hypnotic Erotic Games’. This record was quickly signed to Gusto/Gut Records, and went on to Hit the No1 spot in all of main dance and club charts that year. The record then went on to be voted as the second biggest dance track of 2006 in the Music Week end of year top 100 dance chart. 2007 bought similar success, when their Soulshaker & Ce Ce Peniston track entitled ‘Shame Shame Shame’ picked up by AATW/Universal, which the guys wrote and produced for Ce Ce, also went into the top 5 of the Music Week end of year top 100 dance chart. To date, and under various guises, the Soulshaker guys have been part of more than ten No1 Dance Chart Hits, and around forty top 40 MW Dance Chart Hits. Soulshaker are also signed to other labels under their various different production guises, to include Benson 'n' Hedges (Cayenne/Virgin), Eternal Soul (Slip n Slide), Club 4 Life (fierce Angels/AATW), 45 FLAT (Data) and The Audiofreaks (Audiofreaks).
In the last 18 months, Soulshaker have been approached to host two major radio shows both here in the UK, and in the US. The guys are now part of the ‘Ministry Of Sound’ radio team, and present a Weekly show called ‘The Audiofreaks Sessions’ (Audiofreaks being the guys own production company name) every Sunday daytime from 2pm to 4pm before the Hed kandi show. The US show is every Friday night on Energy 92.7, where the guys present alongside the likes of Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Judge Jules & Carl Cox etc. The guys are lucky enough to be friends with lots of the biggest names in the world of dance music, and so have called upon names like David Morales, Victor Simonelli, Benni Benassi, Soulseekerz, Ben Macklin, Timo Garcia, Grant Nelson, The Sharp Boys, Grant Nelson and Michael Gray etc to do guest mixes and interviews with them on their two radio show.
Not content to purely be known as writer/producers, the Soulshaker guys also run one a highly successful production company called ‘Audiofreaks’ www.audio-freaks.com), and actually own the World famous recording studio complex at London Bridge called ‘The Vineyard’, formerly known as ‘The Hit Factory’, where they now house names like Hed Kandi, Data, Mn2S, The Young Punx and Phonat, in their various recording studios.
2008 has set things up perfectly for the guys to now embark on the next step of their musical journey, and move even more heavily into Pop production and writing within the more Mainstream side of music, and with some A-list acts already lined up for the next few months, 2009 is going to be Soulshaker’s most explosive year to date. Soulshaker are also now starting to produce their debut album, and the record will be an amazing slice of Pop/Dance/Club/Soul with a twist, and it is already secured that each track will feature some of the Worlds biggest and most respected Artists, like Chaka Khan for example.
